DAVE FUNG (SENIOR ASSISTANT TO CHEN HSONG CHAIRMAN – TECHNICAL AND SPECIAL PROJECTS)

Showcasing State-of-the-Art Injection Moulding Solutions in 3C Application Manufacturing

Continuing to blaze the trail in innovation, Chen Hsong shone a spotlight on their groundbreaking work in the 3C (Computer, Communication, and Consumer electronics) application sector at the Mumbai conference. They unveiled their novel approaches to manufacturing electronic accessories, putting a specific focus on smartphone covers, cases, and Bluetooth headphones, signifying a significant transformation in production processes.

Chen Hsong focused on two models from their MK6.6 series: the JM168-MK6 and JM128-MK6. The former is used for rapid production of robust and visually appealing smartphone back covers, leveraging PC and ABS materials. Despite a single cavity, the latter delivers high-quality smartphone cases using PC and PMMA materials, maintaining a swift 14-second cycle time.

All Electric SPARK

Extending beyond the MK6.6 series, Chen Hsong also highlighted their All Electric SPARK AE100 model using Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) technology for precision manufacturing of SIM card trays. Furthermore, they introduced the SM100-SPARK model, employing Ceramic Injection Moulding (CIM) technology, to produce lightweight Bluetooth headphones.

India Trade Minister’s Acknowledgement of the Plastics Industry and Future Economic Growth

In the shared video, Indian Trade Minister, Piyush Goyal, commended the plastics industry for their pivotal role in India’s economic growth and increasing self-reliance and conveys his regret for being unable to personally attend the 2nd Technology Conference of the All India Plastics Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) due to concurrent commitments in Delhi, notably including negotiations on various free trade agreements.

Indian Trade Minister, Piyush Goyal

The Minister’s Acknowledgement of the Plastics Industry and Future Economic Growth

In the video, Trade Minister Piyush Goyal commended the plastics industry for their pivotal role in India’s economic growth and increasing self-reliance. He acknowledged the industry’s significant potential for future economic development, largely driven by micro, small, and medium enterprises. The minister projected India becoming the third-largest global GDP within the next four years, with the plastics industry playing a considerable role in this growth. He foresaw a golden period over the next 30 years, suggesting that India’s economy could expand from $3 trillion to $35 trillion by 2047.

The Role of Exports and Quality Assurance in Economic Growth

The minister also discussed the dramatic increase in India’s exports over the last two years, highlighting the significant contribution from the plastic exports sector. He identified Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and access to new markets as substantial opportunities for growth. Further, he emphasized the crucial role of quality in shaping India’s global reputation as a reliable trading partner. He described how stringent measures aimed at preventing the production and consumption of low-quality goods had resulted in decreased imports and increased exports, leading to job creation across the country.

The Relationship between Sustainability and Economic Development

Minister Goyal referenced the Prime Minister’s theme for the G20 Presidency – people, planet, and progress, stressing the importance of sustainability. He expressed optimism about the renewable and solar energy sectors incorporating more plastic components and called for innovation in designs and products. The minister concluded his address by urging the industry to triple in size over the next ten years, double its employment figures, and double India’s exports. He encouraged the plastics industry to redefine its narrative by pioneering sustainable practices.

Boosting Quality Control in the Toy Industry

In the video, the minister drew attention to the importance of economic competitiveness for India’s self-reliance and resilience. He used the example of the toy industry, which had been dealing with an influx of low-quality, substandard toys from certain regions. In response, the government introduced stringent quality control measures and implemented continuous district-wide monitoring of goods.
By involving customs authorities in meticulous inspection of goods, the government managed to reduce toy imports by an impressive 70% in the past year alone. This, coupled with the industry’s unwavering commitment to offering quality products at competitive prices, led to a 61% increase in toy exports from India.
This focus on quality and competitiveness not only boosted domestic production’s standing in global markets but also catalysed massive employment growth throughout the value chain. By taking these steps, the minister affirmed, the government successfully addressed industry apprehensions related to non-competitive practices and opacity followed by certain countries.

Injecting Quality into the Toy Industry with the MK6.6/SI Series

In response to the challenges faced by the Indian toy industry, Chen Hsong offers a targeted solution – the MK6.6/SI series. Crafted to boost quality control and production efficiency, this series directly addresses the influx of substandard toys hampering the industry.

This series blends advanced technology and efficient operation, propelling domestic production and boosting India’s global competitiveness in the toy market. By adopting the MK6.6/SI series, manufacturers can enhance their quality output, promoting industry excellence and competitive pricing. Chen Hsong’s commitment to the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ initiative shines through in this dedicated solution.
